The aim of HeartWeb is to bring together all those whose lives are affected by heart disease … affected in any way and by any condition.
Whether you be a patient, a carer, a family member or friend, a medical professional or student or even if you are concerned or worried – this website is designed for YOU and you’re all very welcome indeed.
I know what it’s like – all those questions, worries and concerns and no one to ask … and that is the driving force behind this website. The sole aim, to bring everyone together and to provide you space where you can talk to others, share experiences, find and share information, provide support to each other and find new friends who are going through or have been through a similar experience to yourself.
To get started you will need to register with HeartWeb – it’s completely free, very simple and completely confidential but allows us to police and monitor the site to keep it relevant, safe and friendly. Once you’re a member you have access to all areas and can interact in many ways. To register you’ll need to choose a username and this is what you’ll be known by on the site – we will not publish your real name or any personal details at all.
The HeartWeb national online heart support group is a free online UK forum, community website and resource for people affected by heart conditions.
At the bottom of all articles and features you’ll find a “leave a reply” comment box – it’s there to stimulate discussion and debate so please feel free to add any comment or question so see fit or respond to what someone else has posted.
Being independent enables HeartWeb to keep moderation down to an absolute minimum – you can say whatever you think … even if it’s critical or non-complementary … as long as it’s honest.
Got a specific question then let’s have it and let our members and visitors provide the answers. Click the “ask” button and post any question within the categories and sit back to wait for the reply’s to come in.
Alternatively, use the “discover” button to see if your question’s already been answered or hit the “answer” button to browse the open questions and see if you can help someone else. Please check out and participate to help build this into a meaningful resource that can really help make a difference to peoples lives.
A full blown discussion forum to enable you to start or join in any debate on any heart related subject with sections for patients, carers, medical professionals and the worried and concerned. A visit to the HeartWeb Forum and you’ll realise that whatever you’re going through you’re not alone! The forum is YOUR resource to use as you wish, Categories and topics have been pre-set for ease of navigation and to get things going but you can start or join in any discussion you wish under the relevant topic. It’s designed as a platform for you to share information between yourselves and meet new friend who have been through or are going through a similar experience to you.
A simple community enabling everyone to have there own profile page which enables you to add as much (or as little) information about yourself as you wish. Build your own network of friends … maybe people in your area or people in a similar situation to you … and enter in to conversations, find and provide support and build relationships.
Also enables direct mail to each other where you can “chat” away from the public forum if you wish.
More content and developments are also planned.
HeartWeb also have a Facebook fan page and a Twitter account and will be using these social networks to help find answers to the questions and help to those in need of support.
Obviously, HeartWeb will develop over time and as membership increases but, with your input, we aim to very quickly become the number one community resource for everyone whose life has been affected by heart disease in any way, shape or form – please help us to do this.
